i was forced to watch this at school during an english class but i objected to being shown an 18 film when i was only 16. i kicked up a fuss about child abuse and the teacher let me go home. that was an excellent roger the dodger for getting out of school early. while all my sappy chums were in the classroom i was stuffing my face on wagon wheels and pop at the tuckshop.
i was an insufferable brat in my teens and, to my continuing shame, i have not improved with age.

Kubrick withdrew the film for close to thirty years because of the controversy over the old ultraviolence and a teenager killed a schoolfriend after watching the film. The only way to see the film was at private cinema screenings or getting a dodgy French VHS tape.

Hahaha! I too have only seen a dodgy VHS copy when it was banned many years ago. Since then I've bought the DVD but have never got around to watching it.
I downloaded the uncut version of Cannibal Holocaust a few months ago to see what the fuss all about, much ado about nothing really. I also downloaded the Japanese film which was denied a BBFC rating last year due to it being a 'legalised snuff movie'. It was so shit I fastforwarded through most of it and can't even remeber its name!!! :P
*remembered after submitting, it was called Grotesque.

forget the many faces of death films , forget your driller killers and chainsaw masacres ,,, forget shogan assain , i spit on your grave and the burning .............. they all may as well be disney films ,,,,,,,,,,,,
All pussies
,,,,,,,,,,, compared with ,,,,,,,,,,, black sun
warning will leave you disturbed .
actual footage during ww2 of a japanese torture camp.
they freeze one womans arms outside , then pour acid on her , and rip the flesh off her arms , whilst stil alive ,
a man is put in some sort of decompression chamber , and his guts come out his arse
bodyparts get thrown in the furnace etc ,
seriously fucked up shit.
one of those things that during my teenage years , i wish i hadn't have seen , if i could turn back time , i genuinely wouldn't have watched it .
i really really seriously wish i hadn't seen it.

no i dont own it ,,,,,,,,, and dont ever want to
it was one of those instances as a teenager hanging around as a group , round one of our houses watching banned vids etc ,,,,,,,,,,,,, and anyone who left the room would have been labelled a pussy etc ,,,,,,, you all know how it goes at that age ,,,,,,,,, peer pressure etc
all those years ago ,,,,,,,,,,,, yet as vivid as if it was yesterday , such was the level of intensity .
seriously if you ever get the chance to see it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, DONT.
although on a plus point ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, no other supposed horror movie will ever scare you after this ................. none of em have shit.

It's a film with interspersed real footage of torture of the Japs against the Chinese in 1937.
