I'd rather have a Vauxhall badge than an Opel badge if I ever bought the newly crowned European Car of the Year.

One question though - Why does the Manaro constantly get overlooked by people?

Mine will have a vauxhall badge :) That is a picture from the internet.

They are not out until Jan/Feb which is when I'll be ordering one.

Havent decided whether to go for the diesel or petrol V6 yet.

I was only being pedantic Slammer (I won't call you Mark as thats a tad informal 8) ) but what I will say is, the Insignia is by far the best looking Vauxhall for a long time.

You can't really class the Manaro as that, as it was initially designed in Australia for the Aussies, by General Motors, the inbred member of the Vauxhall family.

Handles fcking amazing too.

Handles + the cabin looks 1000x better then the vectra :D

Had the opporunity to test drive one around the Millbrook testing ground (as seen on Top Gear).

Also got taken on a special course by a rally driver showing what the car can really do with a pro 8) behind the wheel.

I've just got shot of my Vectra - and good riddance too.

I've always had Vauxhalls. First car was the Cavalier (rolled it in Hailsham), then had an Astra (someone pulled out of their driveway in Rye and took me out, though wasn't sorry for the Astra to go), then had a Cavalier V6 (Perfect as far as up to then).

Then got the Vectra V6 (S-reg, hell of a lot more comfy than the Cavalier but not as quick), then got an 04 Vectra 1.8 petrol, (and this was such a crap car, flimsy, gutless, didn't turn, clutch & gearbox troubles and whatever else could go wrong did).

I bought a VW Passat last month, and it's 10 times better than whatever Vauxhall could make.

The Insignia does look good, and has had rave reviews, but that's what they said about the Vectra it's replacing. So we'll just have to see how good it is after a few months. Personally, I won't hold my breath.

Vectras were great until the revision (02 I think), then they released an absolute load of bolox. As proven by the fact they didnt sell any!

They improved the new shape coupla years ago with slight cosmetics and specs was much better, but still handled like an absolue piece of shit. Apparently they bought the chasis of a truck company in Moscow, but I'm not sure if thats just rumours?

Anyway, the Insignia is great, I've tested it and was very impressed. Only downful was I did find the V6 a bit sluggish compared to what I had expected.

The passat (especially the new model) is fucking awesome, but I could never bring myself to spend that sort of money on a Volkswagen. I'd sooner put the extra bit too it and get a nice bmw 330.

kinda puts my p107 in its place in the desirability stakes i guess mark, but i got a real bargain , 08plate with 4000 on the clock paid £5650,,,,,,,,,,,,, i would get that back on it no probs if i wanted to sell it in a years time ,

apparently small litre cars sales are the life blood of the moter industry ,,,, stands to reason with the world wide recession an all that , big car sales are at an all time low , the world is on its arse and fuel isn't getting any cheaper , ,,,,,,,, + slotters mileage etc. it makes sense to buy small for the lifestyle .

glad to see your back on your feet now mark, and if i could guarantee to earn what you do each week ,(and had normal mileage ) i would probably like something more prestigious too .

but as it is the peaugeot handles fantastic , power steering is so light , its nippy , easy to get in/out/park in pub carparks ,,,,,,, and above all fuel lasts forever ,,,,,,,

group 1 insurance , £35 annual tax (in 2009 going down to £20) and if rumour is to be believed free from 2011 ( the government are finally contributing an incentive to the green issue )

ok you sacrifice power , but my boy racer days are long gone anyhow lol .

so whats everybody else driving , and explain your choice ??????
