I remember a chum and me getting to level 117 on Gauntlet. Got bored then though and turned it off lol. Later maps just appeared to be rehashes of others, but maybe rotated 90/180 degrees and coloured different.

Dropzone was the best version of 'defender' if you ask me. Those little green aliens that went nuts when they'd dropped off an android to kill one of your men. Always remember the warning noise a man would give off as it was being attacked: Whoo-oh-whoop! (LOL) :)

remember when they started making stuff harder to stay on for long periods, then introduced games with continues to take more of your money .alot of scrolling shooters' end of stage bosses were nails if you had'nt lost a life or two(1942,1943 e.g) ,also the baddies would churn out alot more bullets if you had'nt died on some stuff. :x

best full firepower

1 halleys comet (awesome)
2 salamander (ripple laser!!)
3 r-type (there's another i forgot) ,(all variants on full)
4 vulcan venture (boomerang lasers :shock :)
5 hyperdyne sidearms(awesome game lol at remembering it, all variation of full power were satisfying)

I would love to find a working Robotron, but the missus might object. This is the ultimate mentally fast game.

there was a ps1 game on budget called robotron X ,harry,it was even more frantic than the original and had a right mental headfuck techno soundtrack,i used to play it till i was wired. there is a cabinet you can buy that has hundreds of old school games ,can't be sure if robotrons on there though, this machine was in the argos book last year for 999.99

incidently we have an original pacman cabinet rotting under a tarpaulin at the back of the arcade i work in.

Tis a shame. Even the board will be knackered by now (particularly as the battery will doubtless have leaked all over it years ago).

Night all.
