spyderman is spot on ,,,, take a look on ebay to see the 60gb model selling for as much as £600.
i was one of the lucky ones who got the 60gb model on day one of release
but if your stupid enough to buy second hand electricals on ebay you may get shafted .
and besides you could buy a brand new 80gb model with your 12month peace of mind and a brand new ps2 for 400 anyhow
and the difference in picture quality between hd and full hd is indeed massive,
get a decent full hd tv (many of the more expensive ones have on board processors to improve picture quality even further)
i.e. pixel plus from philips, bravia from sony
im on a lg 47inch full hd set and with their picture processor turned on called trumotion, picture quality is simply outstanding
get pirates of the caribbean box set on blu ray ( whether you like the films or not is subjective ) and you wont believe the difference in picture quality compared with a standard hd ready badged tv. it truly is like looking out of a window
for the pervs amongst us, into the blue staring jessica alba in full hd blu ray is unbelievable, box of tissues at the ready lol.
as for games try uncharted drakes fortune, call of duty 4 or virtua fighter if you want to see what ps3 is capable of graphically .
there ive ranted enough :P

Will probably get a ps3 eventually when the price goes wayyy down and ps4 is out/due out soon (for god of war 3 and any new res evil type games, buy them all on the cheap).
Not too keeen on new titles in general (tend to play most ps2 titlas for a few hours never to be completed), prefer to play retro games in general such as the metroid-vania style games.

at the minute the best deal is the 40gb one, upgrade it yourself if you ever need to, but if you only play a couple of games at a time, and delete old saves/game data when you get rid of old games, it wont fill it up too muchGaryChandler wrote:what gb hardrive is best to get on the ps3?

ps4 wont come out for a long time. very long time
