problem is that its six weeks minimum. Likely that it will be longer than that, owen was out for five months. Rooney was out for three months last time. Theres a good chance that he wont be available until well into the tournament if not after.
Sven has to name his squad fairly soon so unless we get some concrete evidence that he will be fit for the start of it then sven has to leave him out. Otherwise we end up with a place taken by a player who wont play at all.
Its a big problem and needs to be assessed very quickly but I fear that its the end for Rooney, he aint gonna be there.
