nice, will have to try and get hold of some of me pics from iceland. Had one which was just an incredible view from the top of Snowfellsjokull. We took snow mobiles up to the top and froma height of 3500ft you could see right across a large portion of the island. Never seen views like i have there

yip thats the one. Iceland is really one of the most incredible places to visit, the sites of the volcanic island are absolutely magic.

I spent about 5 days there in May, a time when it never goes dark, 3am and its still as bright as midday.

Place is bigger than people might think, iceland itself is around a similar size to Ireland but with a tiny population, 2/3rds of which live in rekjavik.

A friend of mine is half icelandic and lives there so we stayed in her summer house. It was a gorgeous log cabin in the fault valley of a previous earthquake, overlooking a lake and a volcano in the distance.

As I said we took a trip up the glacier on snowmobiles. Also went and saw Gulfoss and Geyser, Gulfoss is a waterfall, Geyser is the Originally named geyser of which all the others around the world are named after.

Also did the Blue lagoon which is the self heated lake due to geothermal energy. Really is a big recommend for anyone that wants something different to experience

You're all wimps if you can't handle a road like that ;)

So what brings mjd in to Coniston/Langdale/Wernside? Also, I think I recognise that pub!
Still kicking about.

Not really, but I do pop out there now and again because it is a cracking area. It's not quite as far for me as it is for you!
Still kicking about.
