I think the back 5 looks pretty settled and Gerrard and Parker decent midfield pairing. Problem is we are short of attacking options (even once Rooney is back). I thought Millner was poor but what are the alternatives? Also, despite the pundits saying Wellbeck had a good came I thought our front two were completely anonymous. Young was caught offside when looking down the line too often. I would have brougth Carrol on particularly given the apparent weakness at centre half for the French- as well as set piece threat, I think he would have provided a better outlet.

Definitely signs of promise but a lack of strength in depth and creative options may prove our undoing IMHO.

Also thought Hansen et al were a bit hasty to write off the Swedes and the Ukranians so readily.
