How doI redo setup on W7?

Post by HornyNick »

I was part way through the initial setup on my new acer pc when i accidentaly pulled the plug. When i restarted, it abandoned the setup. Everything works fine, the only thing im bothered about is that I never created the emergency disks and I cant find the option to do that now. Does anyone know either how to go through setup again or a direct link to create the disks please?

i think that when your computer wants to do it's next back up it should give you the option then.

is there a hard drive partition?

also, if you call the manufacturer of the laptop.. they HAVE to provide you with original install disks, ive done this with every laptop ive bought in the last few years (about 5 or 6 pc's) and twice theyve sent me a non OEM disk, which will install to any computer instead of the usual bundled software.. way more reliable than the self-made disk

ring them and tell them you had to replace the hard-drive out of warranty, and that you have no software, as long as you have a valid service tag and are within 2 years of purchase, they'll send you the disks

yeah, backup partition, invisable to windows... there will be a special key to press during boot up to boot from that drive and auto-install factory software.. oogle the make and model and add ' reinstall from partition'
