DIY - toilet cistern

Hello. I need to remove a wing nut from an awkward to reach spot on the base of a close coupled dual flush toilet cistern that is leaking via the gasket. It is more than hand tight and is a right git to get to...any clues tips hints? I have an adjustable spanner and a wrench which is too large to get into the area.

Try putting your spanner on it then put a screwdriver through the handle so you can give it a good turn.

You could try squeezing one of those springy hand exerciser things until your grip becomes stronger?

Unfortunately urine is very corrosive, so it is probably rusted "to buggery" to use a trade term.

stick a socket on it, ans use a good ratchet....

Sssh stop talking about Rob Base and Clubland as it's JG's toilet update.

Thanks for all the tips, cheats and hints for sorting out the thing.

In the end I got a good socket to the thing, which was good as there's only so close you need to get to samples of your own pubic hair from yesteryear.

The rubber diaphragm was slightly misaligned and the seal is once more of an acceptable standard.
