How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

If the Sun was to become a black hole of the same mass as the original sun what would happen to the earth...theoretically?

o.k , in theory i reckon we should (i'm hoping) get sucked right through and spat out the other side into one of those different dimension thingammy bobs .i'm not guaranteeing that there would'nt be a mild concussion or two and maybe the odd nosebleed, spate of dizziness and isolated cases of broken playing arms .

J.G may have the answer to this one,if indeed i am wrong here.

If the sun were to become a same mass black hole, the following two things would happen :-

1. The radius of the sun would shrink dramatically (escape velocities of light given the mass of the sun)

2. The energy output of the sun would cease (no radiation / light energy would escape the event horizon).

This would lead the earth to become bathed in darkness and rather frigid.

Blackmogu is correct, I should have thought that one through a bit longer, I fully expected someone to say we would be sucked in which isn't true according to the theory's.

Over to you Mr. Mogu!

I thank you..

What do tug of war, rope climbing and duelling with pistols all have in common that is not immediately obvious ?

Hmm not sure how the duelling would work- presumably the silver medallist would receive their gong postthumously.

Anyway staying with the world of sport- what is Vic Flowers' claim to fame?

vic flowers seems to ring a distant bell, for some reason, i'm thinking that he is either a boxer or a football referee.
nobody ever wins on those things.
