nope and nope; it is a land creature and the easiest way to get the answer is through word logic. but it's not a cobra.

Crocodiles?
(I abandoned word logic in favour of guessing. I can't think of any other animals with "cob" in their name)

still no. okay another clue: the old english word coppe was the original name of this animal and middle english veob combine to form a modern word which will give you the answer.

OKay, so presumably this animal is (or was) common in Northern Europe in the Dark/Middle ages. Okay, I'll guess... bear.

I've just resorted to cheating. I'm not proud of myself, but from what I can gather, cobbe was an Old English term for a large man?

the animal is common across the globe. but not a bear. re cobbe: that's as may be, but copp e became cob and veob became ???

Not a rodent, not a bird, on land, common everywhere. Hmm, pig/boar/other porcine?

Ahhh! It all becomes clear.
You must be talking about the beast which is feared by mothers of young children, and likewise, despised by farmers. Even children can't sleep at night, for fear that the dreaded cobveob might be lurking somewhere.
Ah... was half way though that sarky output, when I realised you might be talking about a spider!

Sorry thehut! I'll make it an easy question ...
What is ironic about the Alanis Morrisette song, Ironic ?

Isn't it something about the song not actually being about irony?
