The 54cred phoenix rises once again

Post by Cardinal Sin »

In 1935, a book in a very popular series was published in which in one of the chapters, the main protagonist forms a mob to evict a Jewish shopkeeper suspected of dishonesty. Subsequent publications have removed this chapter entirely.

Who wrote the book, and who is "the protagonist" ?

1337? me no understand!

(oh, and i've never heard of that TV show Harry... I was thinking of Studio 54 but couldn't think of a suitable pun).

Both wrong... and I think Arthur Conan Doyle had died a few years earlier.

Clue: it was a children's book

Nope, although the article I read (Wikipedia of course) mentioned that Herge was quite into his casual racism too.

This is most definitely a British book.

And what does leet mean?

James Bond isn't really a kids book.

This author continued to publish these books until her death in 1969

Nice guess. But wrong.

I'll just give you a giveaway of a clue just so I can get on with some work.

The main guy had 3 friends called Douglas, Henry and Ginger.

p.s. never heard of all that leet / argot business before... quite interesting.
