i'll give you a clue: the old english word for this animal was coppe which is now wholly obsolete but it does still survive in a modern English word which relates only to the animal in question.

Was fairly confident with that one. Anyway had a question to ask which I thought might be a little too obscure and then lo and behold the very same Q appeared on X-Factor at lunch which I v rarely play. So in the interest of everyone's continuing education...

Which non-league team has the nickname the Sandgrounders?

A bit spooky if you ask me.

Hmmm. I'll guess somewhere with a beach anyway...

I'll guess Herne Bay (do they even have a team?)

Out of correctness, there was indeed a cob fish. http://www.club-aquatica.com/AQ3_fish/Cob.htm. So that would make one more creature that has the name 'cob'.

the only thing i can think of which would make it spooky is Cockle Picking deaths - assuming the sand reference means its a coastal area?

Morecombe?
you don’t just jump into bed with Terry Tibbs, you take Terry Tibbs out to lunch, you wine and dine him, you give him an oil massage then he gives you 1950 if you’re lucky!

Nope to all- the spooky reference does not relate to the answer, more to the fact that I had not 30mins previously been contemplating the same (slightly obscure) question.
