when the german footballer franco foda made his senior debut (as a substitute) the germans were playing brazil.
why was it an inopportune debut for foda?

His dad was in the Stormtroopers and had murdered Brazilians during the war ? ( i don't even know whose side Brazil were on during the war).

Long shot- he was a wa nted Nazi war criminal who had fled to South America (as many did) and on returning to Germany to play for Brazil he was arrested.

the answer is to do with the reception he got from the brazilian fans and players
