Answer is 18, 12 & 6. A case of quality over quantity. Even Only Fools & Horses got laboured near the end.

Defo. And they only ever showed one episode of "Heil Honey, I'm Home", so think how good that must have been.

Looking at your pic PL reminds me of when I washed the pots at Farnborough air show when I was really skint. Ten hours a day for a whole week at £4/hour. The upside was that I was monitoring all the catering students at the digs. Happy days.

Sounds good.

I used to work as a potwasher for £2.50/hr, after having turned down a lucrative £2.11/hr to work for MacDonalds.

Maybe I'm showing my age here, although it was only about 12 years ago.

18? It's me! Right...

Seeing as this has become a discussion about crap jobs for crap pay, can anyone tell me which country was the first to introduce minimum wage legislation? I'll accept either of two answers, as they both did it independantly at roughly the same time.

Right, nice question.

I know New Zealand was quite forward thinking for its time (although I might just be thinking of giving the women the vote)

His Lord High Offspring of the Domestic Staff gets it first go!

New Zealand enacted the first national minimum wage laws in 1896. Also in 1896, an amendment to the Factories Act provided for the creation of a wages board in Victoria, Australia. However, the New Zealand board was enforced by compulsory arbitration, so New Zealand is probably the more correct of the two.

Take it away PL...

When you're hot, YOU'RE HOT!

Er....

OK. Another question direct from Wikipedia (together with the heading "The neutrality of this argument is disputed  )....

Anyway, Norway first allowed their women to do it in 1995. Australia became the 2nd country to allow woman to do it in 1998. Canada and Spain later follwed suit. However, every other country, including the UK, forbids women to do it.

What? :D

Nope. Nothing to do with that.

(reminds me of the question "If prostitution is the oldest profession in the world, how did the men afford to pay the prostitutes?" ... of course the answer was "By sending their wives into prostitution!).
