I remember reading the "top 10 most offensive terms for disabled people" on the BBC site (window-licker was up there), but I don't remember the dwarf one.

I'll go for "Are you a munchkin", or something similar.

I think you're getting the 2 confused... Oompah Loompah's was C&CTF, Munchkins were WOO.

Is it something to do with Oompah Loompahs?

3"Were you on TV the other night?"
4"Stand up"
5"Have you ever been thrown?"
6"Is your partner tall?"
7"You’re so brave, it’s such a big world!"
8"Can I touch you for good luck?"
9"You may be small, but you have a big personality"
10"Good things come in small packages"

:D why isn't there an icon for a guilty laugh?

Okay....

Which author, upon hearing that the film version of his book was to have a happy ending, protested outside a cinema where it was being shown, and implored people not to watch it?

Sorry, but that 'one-liner' from HE a few posts back had me (and the rest of the office) sniggling uncontrollably for a good 30 seconds or so!

As regards the question, I knew this (or at least remember hearing about it), but it has since been lost from memory... :(
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

Cheers MV! :D

Re: the question... I'll give you a bonus Cardinal Point if you can tell me the book / film...

Here's a clue: He died shortly after the film was released.

A couple of nice guesses, although Baum died long before WOO came out.

So to sum up. Both wrong.

I'm trying to think up another clue which won't give it away completely. But I can't, so you'll just have to keep guessing.

Half-congrats.

Correct author - wrong book. It was actually The Witches that he protested at the cinema.... in the book, the hero gets turned into a mouse and stays that way. In the film, he turns back into a boy at the end.

Over to you, my good man.

it is funny you should mention that, i went to school with the guy who got turned into the mouse. his name was charlie potter (and presumably still is) fat fella with a big mouth. i can fully understand why roald dahl wanted him to stay as a mouse.

so there you go.

in india they have introduced a new denomination banknote. how many rupees is the face value?

As for your question, I would guess "A fair dod". More accurately, 1,000,000 rupees.
