Okay. Let's try and work this out (because I missed the program I think you got this answer from ;) )

Family of four has chicken for Sunday lunch every week of their lives. Average lifespan is, say 70 years, which makes 3640 between the four of them. Which would make 910 each. Which isn't in the thousands. But my maths is impecable! ;)

you are quite right about the programme i got it from.

trusting your maths we also have chicken for roughly 12 more meals a week.

Ah, right. didn't see the programme myself, but the trailer said average lifespan of 78.5 years if memory serves, and we're looking at 13 chicken-esque meals a week then?

13*52*78.5 = 53066 ????

i was working on Weyland logic of sharing one chicken between four so 53xxx is a bit high.

near enough. according to the programme we each eat 12,000 chickens during our lifetime. pretty staggering.
