Hmmmm. Nice question...

I'm Noel might have one above the o or the e, but I'm not sure which. Or indeed if that isn't an imported word.

Anyway, my guess is Noel. Final answer.

noel as a name doesn't normally have the omelette but the french christmas word does. so not that i'm afraid. also naïve (although accurate) is french so that is DQed. sorry
i have found 13 possible answers so far of which at least four are common words.

right, I'm going to guess waif... although I'm not even sure if that has a scrambled egg on top of it. Maybe I'm thinking of naive.

i will admit this is a bit woolly in that ultimately, all english words are ultimately foreign. but my source is the OED so it should be pretty accurate.

bullseye.
another correct spelling is coöperative.
other answers could have been: Ångström, Sinn Féin, Boötes, daïs, Föhn, jäger, continuüm, animé, oölogy, rosé and hácek (can't find the hacek smbol for the c though). anyway step up clever Mr Cleves.

Rabbits is something to do with the Germans going back hundreds of years and eggs is to do with the "birth" of a new religion.

I thought eggs cos they represent a circle, which is unending...

No idea about the rabbits.

Back to UP: half those words didn't have an umlaut... and is Sinn Fein not an Irish word?

Ill give that to harry as he was 1st with half the answer.

Its to do with the association between fertility and rebirth of eggs and rabbits and it does have a christian meaning within it aswell.

Over to you harry.

On a side note, isnt cafe french?

apologies for the misspelling.

my guess is eggs: i'd guess because they symbolise birth/ regeneration
(notice self-restraint in no dodgy puns)
rabbits: dunno, something to do with a warren in the bible?

as for those dodgy words, rosé wine is (apparently) not accented in france we only have it to distinguish from the flower/colour. sorry if you still think my Q was dud. as for non-accented words perhaps the accents don't show on all browsers.

i hope people can see all the nonsense on my pseudonyms below.

I'm sure you guys have heard this question or similar and there may be several answers. Name an Englsish word whose first seven letters are consonants.
