Benny Hill and Frankie Howerd?

Remember it being mentioned in the newspaper that both were loved and would be missed, but frankie only in the UK, whereas Benny had worldwide appeal.

Might be the wrong year (or decade..) though..

Which British runner ran the anchor leg in the 4 by 400m relay at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo?

This was particularly notable as he took the baton in second place, and overtook the 400m individual Olympic champion Antionio Pettigrew to win the Gold.

Bonus points for naming the full quartet and quadruple bonus points for naming the 2 British runners who took part in the heats but not the final.
