That was my first guess as well. And no it doesn't have anything to do with that game (which was 1988 IIRC), as that was a Football League XI rather than an England XI and they played a Rest of the World XI

dave watson i believe? ex norwich everton player.
he managed everton for a few weeks at the end of the 96/97 season and tramere at some point i think?
capped for england maybe 8-9 times and played against them for hong kong in 95 or 96?

Is correct!

Played and player manager of Everton.

Played for England, and played against them for the Hong Kong Golden Select XI in the build up to Euro 96 (The "dentists chair" trip).
