am tempted to flout convention and give you that for the visual gag. but not that tempted.
bear in mind that piracy was a hugely dangerous lifestyle and much time was spent in choppy seas.

correct, if your corpse was washed ashore your gold earrings would pay for a dignified burial and your safe passage to the afterlife.
