Got to be bowls- flat and crown green. I imagine the tournie referred to is flat (the more popular variant). In fact dont see many crown greens down here at all.

I think from when I previously looked there may also be a Hilton Trophy in backgammon but not contested between the home nations and not fitting the two variant/ Sir Francis Drake clue?
