I've heard that poser before, but I would argue that you use the word A in 101 - as in "one hundred and one".

it also depends if you are allowed e.g. half and by extension one garjillionth.

but that is niggardly. 1000 has to be the answer

I’m tempting, so it’s said,
I have a shiny coat of red,
And my flesh is white beneath.
I smell so sweet,
Taste good to eat,
And help to guard your teeth.
What am I?

Though Almost Blind

Without a bridle, or a saddle,
Across a thing I ride a-straddle.
And those I ride, by help of me,
Though almost blind, are made to see.
What am I?

My Web

I move silently, without wings,
Between silvery, silken strings,
And there stretched in the grass
You’ll see my web as you pass.
What am I?

The More I Stand…

Two bodies have I
Though both joined in one.
The more still I stand
The quicker I run.
What am I?

Look in my Face

Look in my face, I am somebody;
Look in my back, I am nobody.
What am I?

Four Legs and a Back

What is it that has four legs
And one back,
Yet can’t walk?

Cross the Water

To cross the water I’m the way,
For water I’m above:
I touch it not and, truth to say,
I neither swim nor move.
What am I?

All Poured Out

What is the thing which,
Once poured out,
Cannot be gathered again?

Deep as a Cup

Round as an apple,
Deep as a cup,
All the King’s horses
Can’t pull it up.
What is it?

Among Children Most of All

A mile from end to end,
Yet as close to you as a friend.
A precious commodity, freely given.
Seen on the dead and on the living.
Found on the rich, poor, short and tall,
But shared among children most of all.

No Pavement

I have streets but no pavement.
I have cities but no buildings.
I have forests yet no trees.
I have rivers yet no water.
What am I?

Cannot Be Lifted

Nothing on the outside
Nothing on the inside
Light as a feather
Yet ten men cannot lift it.What is it?

Poisonous?

Part carbon, part water, I am poison to the fishes.
Many have falsely claimed my name, for I am the pause that refreshes.
What am I?

Sky Mocker!

Many-manned scud-thumper,
Maker of worn wood,
Shrub-ruster,
Sky-mocker,
Rave!
Portly pusher,
Wind-slave.What am I?

Secret Follower

Each morning I appear
To lie at your feet,
All day I will follow
No matter how fast you run,
Yet I nearly perish
In the midday sun. What am I?

Helping Move Earth

I have no eyes, no legs or ears, and I help move the earth. What am I?

Illusion

I am a tale in childrens? minds.
I keep their secrets and share them inside.
I blur their thoughts into fantasies kept
Like a canvas of art or a submarine depth.
Though an illusion, it occurs every night;
I give them a fantasy, I give them a fright.
Nor good or bad, but always nigh?
It?s interesting to tell.What am I?

Low I.Q.?

I’m a seed that’s underground.
Many like to spread me around.
But my family it’s said is quite insane.
And if you’ve a low I.Q. you’ve this kind of brain.
Eat me raw and I’ll make you sick.
Eat too much and your tongue will stick. What am I?

Book of Magic?

My author’s uncertain yet my title’s the same,
I contain random text yet order’s my aim.
Read me one day and see my pages are totally bare.
Try again another day and the words will be there.
I’m not a book of magic although it may sound,
I can predict the future, and inside, your life can be found.
Move my eye, I become involved in lactic extraction.
But that’s just a clue , a minor distraction.What am I?
