I'll go for three.

A wild stab at Roger Bannister as he managed the mile in less time than it takes to cook an egg, Seb Coe as he's well-known and a third man, as I always forget at least one. Faultless reasoning....

Or maybe it's none at all, but that'll be my second guess.
Still kicking about.

Well I'll go two purely on the basis that UP's question asks for names plural and there surely cant be many.

How about Alan Wells - surely he didnt go sub 10 secs?

well the common answer is none but that is not true. a polish fella called marian woronin did it once in the '80s

His fastest time of 10.00 s was rounded up from 9.992 s, thus giving him the distinction of being the only white sprinter ever to run under 10 s for the 100 m, albeit unofficially. [1]

but craig pickering is tipped to do it this season. so i'll accept two.

over to NM

Underground rivers in London. Some reporter went down the River Fleet on "The One Show" last week. They were built over to stop the spread of disease.

Well done Hazza- not often UP loses out on a local knowledge question like that.

The Fleet runs south down farringdon road into the Thames at Blackfriars, perpendicular to the east end of Fleet street.

Tyburn down from Hamstead passing through the area by Marble arch where the public hangings took place and which takes its name from the river.

Wallbrook- runs down Wallbrook in the city (formerly where Deacon's home to three different genres of SWPs was)

Effra is south of the river running underground from Upper Norwood, through Dulwich, Herne Hill, Brixton etc - see Effra Road and emptying into the river at Vauxhall bridge. There was previously a campaign to unearth the effra by south london residents, although I must admit that having lived practically next to it in three different locations I was ignorant as to its existence.

Anyway over to you H
