Just out of curiousity, how does this actually affect a machine ?
In my local, refill day is a friday and the machines play pretty much exactly the same on thurs and sat ?
Have i over looked some thing incredibly simple ?

Yeah when you put a pound in and always to and hear if its hitting no pound coins just the tray at the bottom, if its doing this then this is a good sign.
Alternatively if its hitting loads of pound coins at the bottom then this is a bad sign as it hasn't been refilled yet.

Aaargh!!! just use your noggin!!!
Refills have no effect on a machine whatsoever.
Now if your using the balance of the m/c to judge if it's worth playing then thats a different kettle of fish.
e,g it's a no notey m/c
Thursday you go in and it's full. Gotta be worth playing.
You drop it for £105 and nobody plays it for the rest of the day.
Friday it's refilled and a player walks in not knowing about the refill and finds it full. If he forces it based on the hopper balance he's in trouble.

On reds, especially newer ones, you will have to take them on if they are full, even if you think it's refill, as they are too difficult to judge, as they often fake red/block £5 when near ready etc.etc. Just gotta take a shot at it, unless you have judged the area to be dead, or know when you last did it obviously.

I always have OB, hence my point with JB's also. A lot of the £35 releases especially in the last 12 months have had a bigger random element in them. Obviously if your a traveller it's harder for you but with me just covering my own area hopper balances and refill days have been a key to my stategy.

Yeah on that note if you are a traveller
You need to stop shitting in the street and leaving gas canisters behind
