Morning all. Played 1 of these last night. Played the Wild Poker game on it and not very impressed. Highest win I got was a Straight for £2. Cost close to £50 to get £35 then died.
Different games have different percentages. the Roulette is on 84% the poker is 82%.
There was 3 of these in the pub along with a Games Media SWP.

Games medias company mission is to introduce these on a wider basis. Other companies seem to realise this is not the way forward.

I think tis because its a "video" game. Pubs/Clubs aren't the places for "video" games.

I remember there being a video machine in my local 4 or 5 years ago, had battleships on it and 3 others i think, my first ever £100!

Anyone else see this?

Yeah, battle ships did not like to go big OR streak, but was incredibly readable (similar to reds- see how many features were super). Seen a dodgy roulettee game, a bullseye game, some poker thing and a happy fruits on there.

yes I've seen 4 off these in a couple of pubs, one of those pubs is distributed directly from games media - they now have a distribution branch aswell it seems...

can't imagine them catching on that much, they play like shite.

I wandered into a pub today to find the usual fruities had been replaced by 4 of these Juice machines. I decided to give it a try for half an hour, and ended up spending 3 and a half hours in there.

First machine was a video Billy The Quid, on 86%:

Identical game, except that the lack of synchronisation between the start button and the eventual reaction of the machine doesn't half annoy you. I twice tried to Taxi to the 2 Super Shots square and ended up on the £3 square beyond it. Both times it cost me the top feature and ended up giving Game Over. £120-odd in for £105 out.

Second machine had GamesMedia plastered all over it and was very small, almost like one of those cash machines you see in the corner of a pub. It turned out to be a quiz machine.

Third machine was called The Golden Compass, on 88%:

This turned out to be a clone of BTQ/BB, with a circular (compass-shaped) board instead of a square. The top feature was bizarre; rather than spinning the reels, it was a clock with 3 hands - and every spin of the hands landed on three like fruits and awarded the wins that way. Happily after the first £35 it then landed the hands on three Jackpot symbols. £30-odd in for £70 out.

The final machine had a choice of games and was Casino-based; it had the Roulette and Poker games aswell as the Road To Vegas fruity, which I played (again at 88%). Just over £100 in for £120-odd out.

So, not too bad money-wise, but staring at those video screens did give me a real headache. On reflection, I really hope these things don't take over entire pubs and that old-fashioned AWPs remain.

You were lucky on that road to vegas machine, bloody awful that is, really slow to progress, and a passion for palming you out with big safe cash wins which makes it even worse!

not half as bad as the roulette game though. how that pays percentage cannot imagine. And the actuall 'roulette' bit is rigged. Shockingly bad, one to avoid like your mothers life depended on it.

Yeah it wasn't much fun. I was quite heavily in and getting bored of constant boards where it filled every pot to the last prize before the 'Vegas Streak', and then gave Hi/Lo Continue (on a 6, of course) from the mystery.

Thankfully it cracked in the end and did a rather odd £51 streak, and the next board gave 'Invincible' from the mystery, which was nice. That one went flat but the annoying Safe wins you mentioned just about kept me in the black.

I noticed this game on the same Video AWP with Flashback on it in another pub, but didn't try it out. Now that I have, I shan't be rushing to play it again.

dont play them if you do you are only increasing chances of them taking off.

The thought that I should be voting with my feet and walking out of the pub did cross my mind :)

Thankfully, it's not a pub on one of my favourite routes so I shan't hurry back there.

You should of gone straight home and worshiped God for allowing you to only lose fifteen quid.

I was watching the rugby in a pub this afternoon and kept an eye on two machines sited next to each other - one a QPS Quid Vicious, the other a Juice video AWP with The Golden Compass as the main game.

Over the space of more than 2 hours, it was interesting to see how the punters were only too happy to throw money into the standard AWP, but were very suspicious of the video version. Two fellas even commented that because the video game isn't mechanical, it's highly likely to be controlled from 'outside'. Presumably they're thinking that the advanced technology makes it possible for the outcome to have suddenly become a more profitable one for the landlord.

Match ended, I jumped on. First board cost £3 and offered £15 red. Board lost but a flat top feature was given on the next board. A tenner later, on a blatently ready board, top feature pays £105. Machine kindly offers the chance to collect the winnings £35 at a time - via an almost silent payout mechanism. £17 in for £140 out, and an absolutely fab result.

While I'm not in favour of traditional AWPs being replaced by video screens, if they're gonna pay dividends like this then I'm all for them
