A new machine in my local spoons. Quite a boring machine to be honest by I seem to remember 'cool gaming'? Anyway, 3quid in 15out on red 4 cash k.os. Not a bad win I suppose.

Anyone had any experiences with this?

Well from 4 red strikes you should be chasing it! Had a few £70s and a couple of £105s out of these, tend to find they aren't too bad really, and don't bite you on the arse as much as games media clones when forcing.

Very hit and miss these, although I do agree with matt, they tend to cost less to come out, havent had any horrors on them, whereas I had goldrush cost £240 to give the top (got £150ish back).

However the top is often just £35, wheras the top on warped etc. is much more likely to go £70 or even £105 - infact it's one of the most likely top's to go £105 out there. You do tend to get a bit of afters tho on BTQ/BB if it does a flat £35, and occasionly it streaks and gives it the next board.

So you think when I was on the inside board with 2 red features it was 100% ready to pay out a lot more? I took it as I had a bad feeling it was going to boot me off thats all

gold rush by far is the most consistant machine in terms of these machines, BB and Billy The Im Going to Take All Your Quids just dont seem to play the same. Still i would play it, if it were full and in a country pub.

Yep Gold Rush is by far the most harsh. You can chase it from glaringly ready and still not do that well. Seeing as they are sooooooooooo easy to milk doen to £3 ready, they are always dead too.

Tried a quick 20 on this at weekend (hoping to win a fiver/tenner towards beer money), think it plays even worse than BTQ as it killed me off pretty quickly.

It's interesting to read people's different opinions, as I can't get enough of the Gold Rush m/c's near me at the moment. On the other side of the coin, I've had mixed results on BB and BTQ (the £35 versions).

If you're happy to pay for a red Gold Rush, and you've monitored the hopper level since you last played it, it seems that you are very often heading for a £70/£105 top. I knock back any normal tops offered as it seems pointless winning £35 plus a few drips and drabs when you can have a dip at a top streak others don't seem to push for.

The important thing is that very, very few punters have the patience and/or the funds to see it through; they collect the red £15 and the like - I even watched a group of pub regulars standing discussing what the best thing on the machine could be - they didn't even realise that Gold Rush itself is something you can collect, yet these are usually pretty clued up folk.

BTQ and BB have too many 'nice' sounding features which are offered in red and pay awkward £12 wins - setting a machine back a fair way.

I recycled 6 flat red BTQs last night in the space of an hour-and-a-half, to eventually push out a staggered £105 streak, which was painful. It made me realise that Gold Rush serves me so much better because the top feature is offered so much less often.

As ever, it all depends on the state you find things in and the number of other players tripping over each other in your area...

The thing is, and theres NO GETTING AROUND THIS, it's so UNPREDICTABLE how much the top will cost, from any state of the machines hapiness/fullness when you get on it. I really don't see there being a debate about this, everyone knows these are dodgy mate. The top likes £70/105 yes agreed...

The thing you have to think about is this... is the average cost to get the top, better than the average reward, I'd say personally, £90 would be an average cost for the top on these, and I might add at this point, this is ALL from happy + full/near full ones, and this is from MANY MANY occasions, and not just my own experience. The average amount you get from the top is about £80ish ( 20% £35 40% £70 40% £105 ), again this is from ALOT of experience with them.

Overall (imo obviously) then you have an expected profit of -£10 over the long run, hence under no circumstances are they worth playing out, just take the best offer on the 1st board and leave.

Totally agree.....never been up forcing a gold rush in about 6 attempts now. Worst one was over £200 in before it went from MS and £4rp red first board. How that can be justified i'll never know. Chased one yesterday that was £9 ready (4 strikes, red turbo and £9 middle) and it cost £70 odd to get a red GR for a flat £35, with only the tiniest amount of afters to leave me £30 odd down. I'll just collect stuff like every other mug now, sick to the back teeth of these costing the earth to go in.

Couldnt agree more, played today and offered £13 cash pot and only red BB left. £85!!!! later get red BB streak for £35 flat, rolls in £10 red sevens next spin, lose gamble down to £4 and lose 3rd spin to game over.

Recycle £20 to next red BB for flat £35 and then completely dies for like £50. Eventually again get red BB for another £35! cannot be arsed to carry on and collect Red gold streak for £22 a tenner later. Wont bother anymore. Could have been £11 up if collected first board but how can you not force from here.

You do right. I make small profits from machines and will only EVER put up to £5 in one machine. Normally within 3-4quid in i'll get a good 8quid out of most machines. Many people will laugh at these 'small wins' but to me it's 2 pints and money up and not down. I will then either call it quits with profit or put it in another 2 try my luck. If I lose i'm equal and no big loss, but I consider it extra money to play with on the next. I'll never let myself get addicted to them as you end up posting your wins up on here but never your loss
