This went red twice on me today, first took 4 super strikes which went for £16 (so much better doubling it up rather than just getting the next amount up like most of these machines), then second time gave me £5 and repeat, which obv meant £10 as it was red, first cash strike. Was I wise to take this? "Going Red" doesn't guarantee anything does it?

Yes & Yes.
Going red doesn't mean anything on these and I also prefer the red cash strikes on these in that they repeat rather than toggle gamble.
I say that as it never is uusally more than £20-£25 i thought you may have known that

I took Red Super Streak the other day on a R2R off a £1 hoping for at least £10 it gave £6
