I presume that the Cheese came first, as they recycled the name from an old Empire fruity. Top Dog became a clone, then I imagine that it developed into High Flyer, Superstar etc.

Cheese Def first, then high flyer maybe , top dog, hot rocks(not many of them) and superstar last. Superstar was a bag of shite though in my opinion.

Superstar took any / all playability of the previous ones out.

high flyer definitely was emptyable and it was very very short lived.. it wasnt over a week.

push for a flash, (after a few boards of getting to win series make sure you only board on mixed bars or cherrys for the golden hold setup)
once its flashing you have to get golden hold, this can be very tricky, basicly luck sometimes but after a few successful attempts the usage of bonuses and question marks made it a bit easyer
the jp from golden hold on a flash would not offer a repeat chance
the next board would flash (setup for golden hold jp before board entry)
repeat process as many times as possible which was usually 3 followed by the next flashing board giving jackpot and usually repeating which emptied the machine and killed it off.

all the other £25 wins offered a repeat chance, i think at the time we decided that the golden hold jackpot not offering a repeat somehow made it not turn off the IM

i got about 3 hits from the one in my local, and saw about 2 other units before they stopped it working.

we spread a pretty funny rumor on the empty at the time, and it resulted in people using a hell of a lot of 5p pieces to play the machine...
