The big Reds

Post by popp665 »

I must admit I generally dont touch Donds but as the local now has one my addiction has been getting the best of me. One thing ive noticed if it ofers you deal or no deal and you go all the way to the end and have a bad amount in your box 9 times out of 10 the next bored you will be straight back on the dond feature. My question is what is the maximum you can take for it to offer the board agian? I f you know what I mean eg £4 ?

Theres definitely something on these. My mate put £80 in this in record time and it didn't offer anything above £3.

Agree MrRed, these are pretty poor.

They got wise to COB, which is now virtually controlled by readiness. You can spawn a good one once in a blue moon when dead, but nothing like CYBTB. It only offers good ones when £10-£15 ready. Boards are usually expensive, and often blocked at £3 cash and 50/50, triple shot, turbo cash and rapid round. £3rp red counts as £3 ready, not £6 ready. So don't get suckered in. I try and avoid banker messages when dead as it nearly always says COB will be lose. Depends how you feel though.

If its above these then it should be phones ready (rise n fall, take a chance, dial up dosh, east & west). Above this set of features its force ready (red mist is £15 min, cash combo is £20+, win stepper is £30-£35, nearest win is usually £7/£15/£20, cash convoy is £10+, open the box is also variable but often £10+).

Disappointingly this came into my local last week, it replaced a Hot Property, yes, its getting that bad. Gave it a go on Tuesday and within £25 it was showing the usual signs, it took £72 for a GATW - MS went for £60. Tried a bit more but like most of these it died on its arse (what happened to consecutive IM boards these days), ended up £102 in for £96 out so at least I got some back.

These are absolutely everywhere round here its getting beyond a joke, even quick rips are expensive, a £5 rpt for a nugget would be nice now and again.

Some may disagree, but I think as machine swaps go, replacing a Hot Property with a DOND Big Reds is a slight improvement!

They're both very, very poor machines though it must be said.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Happened to me a few weeks back, was waiting as a chum finished off a Cluedo, and rolled a few into this, first board was a GATW, where MS went for £60 and the next board (after £7 credits!) also GATW'd, MS went £50. After that an NW for blue sevens. Like yourself, ended up about £100 up.

That's the sort of luck that keeps us trying these buggers... ;)

Nah these are usually ok to force anfield. Seems better if it gives you the flash GATW rather than landing on it, as you can get your DOND after for another. Sometimes runs for 3 too.
