Games media predicting the end of Analogue Machines

Post by gambogaz1 »

Taken from there latest news about securing the Hasbro licence.

"Working together, Hasbro and Games Media can maximize Hasbro's brand values, creativity and future ideas in conjunction with Games Media's game development and marketing skills in the 'pay per play' sectors. We are excited about this relationship, especially as the pub sector begins its transformation from stand-alone analogue games to digital and downloadable."

:(

I can't see how they're doing well as the only pub I've seen the Juice m/c's in I've hardly seen anyone playing them.

Games Media are good at talking "Corporate Crap". In reality, Games Media are dull & one dimensional. Any leisure company that buys from Games Media will make more losses this financial year again.

They did well last year because the Leisure companies bought machines from them. Once sold, the machine is the property of the Leisure Company.

If Games Media churn out the same shit this time, the order book will be well down. They are taking a massive risk in the Video AWP which will make or break them, probably break in my opinion.

Games media will say this because they are owned by Scientific Games, another yank company in cahoots with the Global Draw to get their shite sited here, there and everywhere.

the video machines they make are far worse in comparison to their competitors in this (video) market which are games warehouse's inifiniti cabinet - the latter looks much more sleek, has a greater selection of games, higher percentage payouts, and generally gives you a good bang for your buck... the former gives toilet games media games that have blatent blocks, rarely streak, love costing for boards.... need I go on..

Analogue will die out eventually - its only natural that things move on. I'm sure someone said CD's would never catch on, or "who needs a TV that big on the wall? And whats this 'PLASMA' rubbish all about?"

Fact is, things move on - although not always as quickly as some people may like. Players still play analogue machines, and will probably continue to do so for quite some times where they have the choice.

However, if, say, the choice was removed - so they ONLY had video machines where they normally played, they wouldn't stop gambling on the fruit machines, they would play the video machines. They might stop for a while, but gamblers are gamblers, and they will always have that desire in them. Chances are they will try the games available to them, and as more and more games are developed (bear in mind, its still in a relative infancy as far as the number of available games goes) and the developers deliver better and better games, people will migrate because they WILL find stuff that interests them.

New technology scares people - it always has, and always will. But eventually, people come round to it. How long this takes is anyones guess - it could be two years, it could be 10. But it will happen.

PS - What games are on the infiniti thing you were on about? Not seen one yet
