If you saw someone had JP would you tell em?

Post by megastreaker »

I was out on Friday. I put £5 in monopoly RTR. It gave me £11. I had 2 red cars and it seemed like it might go but had a crap number so collected and bought some drinks.

Some guys who had just got £20 of DOND from cash or bust, walked over. They threw about 15 quid in and I saw them on the machine. i figured i'd help them as they didn't know red number were no lose. anyway They had 1 red car and 2 cars above them. They also had a red number next. I told them they had jackpot and they didn't believe me. i told them to trust me and move aside. Two secs later they had JP and bought me a drink. They only got a flat £35 but hey that machine never usually gives more.

Would you ever show someone they had a JP?

Fair dues. I was not out playing I was with mates and they got pissed off that I was playing the machine. We were moving on and I thought what the hell, I'll tell them.

Also I know that RTR doesn't often do much.

Had I taken a risk and ploughed my £11 winnings through it I would have got it but i was just happy to have a few drinks.

The munters were clueless though.

I would have if it was a machine I wouldn't play. Or, if by telling them I would be letting on to something.

I've told a guy he had JP on a GATW on a bellfruit, I mean its rare enough why waste it?

Sometimes I try to buy the board off them,(easier if theres no credit/bank etc) . I bought a hi-flyer IM for like £15 the other day, non run tho :(

Thats a good idea that! Never thought of it before. Cant see it happening often but still worth a try. What do you say to the munter then and how much do you offer?

I have helped a fair few people in my time (always when I am not playing/about to leave etc) and have been offered drinks/some money etc afterwards. have ALWAYS turned down the money, and only once accepted a drink from someone and that was after some persuading/insisting on their part.

If your not going to bother playing it yourself why not. Anyway so has anyone else paid for a board off someone? If so im sure they would see arse when you take the JP.

If you buy a board off someone then how do you know they won't kick off if you win more? Surely they are going to wait to see the outcome

what do you mean 'kick you off'? how are they gonna do taht- brute force? If theyre offered £15 on an IM and are about to collect and you offer them a £20 to carry on; its not THEIR board to 'knock you off' anyway!

Normally people just say yeah and take the money (unlesss their somethign obvious like a high cashpot etc) just out of curiousity, "omg im being given money for this, what he gonig to do to it" sort of thing.

I'll go upto £20 I reckon to purchase unles its something like a red, some guy was gonna take £25 on JITC, I gave him £25, died, but got a £50 the next board :)

Sometimes it can work out well, Ive bought an £11 caspot of some1 on lucky strike for £12, and it went in that board for £36, I was happy coz I'd made money, the 2 guys were happy as they'd made money (they were only spare change in apparently) and they also felt liberated that I'd "beat the machine".

Good laughs all round :)

lol, reminds me of about 5 years ago, in a pub my best mates dad was playing Bling King Crazy (red), and he was offered 3-4 red boards, he looked at me and it landed on some crazy low win feature, i said take it, and because he came off after 4 red boards with about £18 I knew now was the time to jump on.

Did so, got top, and went for £40... in total after 10 in. Beautiful

If someone offered me £20 and then they won more I'd be a little pished off but then I guess thats the risk you take.
