As i was bored in Hunstanton last saturday i decided to while away a bit of time on FOBT roulette. The chap next to me was going ballistic. I had a look at the number history....

Eleven reds in a row! What sort of feckin' odds to one are they!? It did nothing for my thoughts on the legitimacy of these things!

the same odds as the following sequence 12 26 23 10 8 2 1 29 31 14 2 0 28 9.

IE:

EXACTLY THE SAME ODDS AS ANY OTHER COMBINATION!

Whether a number is hi or lo or red or black makes no bloody difference, you get a random number between 0-36, if a few happen to be red in a row OH WOOPEE DO! I have seen 12+ reds/highs etc. in casinos myself so I assume you it does happen.

Oh for fucks sake I am so sick of all this FOBT shit. Are they rigged? yes they fucking well are.

Not even debatable anymore, the evidence speaks for itself.

Yes I'm so sick of it too, but NO they aren't rigged, number sequences etc. are no evidence at all. WHY RIG A GAME THAT WILL MAKE YOU MONEY NATURALLY ANYHOW.

Consider the typical persons average bet... I'd say £20/spin (in most, some bookies only get small punters though), with 2 spins a minute, on a basis of 3 out of 4 machines being played on average all the time (again some bookies dont get this I know), thats £120/minute being staked. At 2.7% that means about £3 a minute is being made ON AVERAGE from the 2.7%, which is £180/hour. Obviously this figure is lower if the average spins/machines being played are lower. Why is there need then to rig these machines prey tell??

Personally I have played the things far too much, although don't really play them much these days due to the advent of betfair zero roulette - I can honestly say they have felt as fair as any casino roulette I have played.

Lets not bother saying anything further on this one, getting old, anyone who still thinks they are rigged, well fair enough, but whilst there is no need for them to do it, they clearly wont, - no length of number sequence would prove anything.

I don't know whether it was this thread or not, I don't have time to read through it all (sorry) but people were arguing/questioning how much an FOBT costs to rent.

Well, I've just been to put my footy bets on and got talking to my mate who is the Manager (Corals), and he informed me that they pay £75 per machine per day and they have to pay Global Draw a fee for the games on them.

Just thought I'd share the info with you all. :D

(Begs the question - Why don't they purchase the damn things, makes financial/logistical sense in the long run?)

They prob then would have to start hiring engineers allover the country on standby to sort them...prob is cheaper long term just to rent them just a guess...
