I dont keep in contact with him, keeps himself to himself but as far i know he wasnt doing much in horse racing and was a football agent. Last time i saw him he had Brett Ormerod on his books??? Hardly bigtime!!!

Rob. I was lucky enough to see Richard ride Dessie several times, especially at Kempton and Sandown. I believe he won nine times out of ten rides. The greatest win was when he won the Whitbread (now betfred) Gold Cup at Sandown and got the biggest cheer I have ever heard for a jumps race finish. The roof was almost lifted. He went behind between the last two fences but got back up near the line carrying a very big weight. Richard was very stylish and selected quality over quantity. He would have won a lot of riders championships but was up against the combination of Pipe/Scudamore. Well respected in the game.
