I went to a jumps race meeting today at Haydock, and I still cannot get out of my head how fast and how far these horses run... Its just ridiculous! makes me feel sorry for the horses in a way. Running all that way and then being hit to quicken up...
2 Miles in horse racing terms isn't 'that far' but when you watch them doing it infront of your own eyes you just think WOW

it reminds me of those christmas do dinner tables.. a huge Rectangle, with is about 30 times longer in length than it is in width...
This is a picture my brother took in summer, it was a flat race, but look at the background! 3 mile race today and the horse did two circuits... it is quite a sight.. I was amazed.. I never have the right to criticise a horse ever looking at that. the weather was awful today, not a good day to be a jockey either.. twas freeeeeeeeeeezin!
