Flat Season 2011 Horses To Follow NOW WITH VIDEOS!

Here are my 10 horses to follow this coming flat season:
1. Goldikova - The French super-mare who has won a plethora of Group 1 races over her specialist 1 mile distance. It seems she is only vulnerable on soft ground, hence her only defeat of last season at the expense of Makfi. Makfi is a class horse but has been retired. Unless one of the 3 year olds is something extra special this season, I can't really see beyond Goldikova in any of the big 1 mile races of the season apart from...

2. Canford Cliffs - Disappointed in last year's 2000 guineas but came back well and won the Irish equivalent easily. Did everything asked of him beyond that and looked like a potential great miler.

3. Frankel - Now they say this horse could be anything, maybe one of the greats we'll all remember in the making. He is unbeaten, he won in all types of ground, he's a "freak" and named after the great American trainer Bobby Frankel who died quite recently (before this horse was born). He's favourite for the Derby and he could well be the next Sea The Stars, but I'm not totally convinced...yet because of...

4. Dream Ahead - Ran like crap in the Dewhurst where Frankel beat him (his 1st defeat) however the ground was very loose, it wasn't proper soft ground which he loves. He simply couldn't get his action right in this ground and this leads me to believe he could be even better in the firm ground we expect. He'll win more races...

5. Cape Blanco - Won the Dante at York beating Workforce by 3 lengths before being diverted away from the English Derby to the French where he had a terrible run, returned to win the Irish Derby (Workforce became the only horse not to have won the Dante to win the Derby and became the hype-horse of the year) and then came 2nd to Harbinger in the Hardwicke Stakes at Ascot (beat Workforce again), he then won the Irish Champion Stakes easily beating Rip Van Winkle (odds on stablemate) by 5 lengths. Then the fools took him to France again where he was unplaced having not liked the soft ground and being bumped at least 3 times when trying to get a run, Workforce won it - the most pathetic Arc I've ever seen, he barely beat a suspect Japanese donkey because every other horse had a nightmare run. Cape Blanco will win races this year, decent races - he just needs good or good to firm ground.

6. Wooton Bassett - This is a class animal, absolutely top drawer, he has run in very valuable stakes races, not the top group races but races which are just as hard to win... every race he's improving, he has run in big fields, he has plenty of experience and he's still unbeaten after I think 5 starts. This horse is therefore capable of winning the 2000 Guineas and is a massive 14 to 1 to do so. I'd keep an eye out, obviously great 2 year olds don't always go on to make great 3 year olds but this horse has shown a lot of talent so far.

7. White Moonstone - A filly this time, also unbeaten. Could well be Godophin's star horse for the coming season, she has great attitude and it one of the favourites for the 1000 Guineas and the Oaks.

8. Seville - A lot of people like Ballydoyle's Roderic O'Connor who was 2nd to Frankel in the Dewhurst, I like this horse more - a son of Gallileo, just looks like he could be a star in the making to me.
9. Dubai Prince - Could be Godolphin's colt of the year, if not him it will probably be Casamento, 2 of the horses who could well turn out to be the special ones if Frankel and Dream Ahead end up disappointing those who expect them to be the stars of the year.
10. Zebedee - Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes had great times with this horse last year, a sprinter who is held up for a finishing burst that was addictive! You'd put your money on, watch and think "What is he doing????" and then watch him win, brilliant.

Other horses to note:
Havant (daughter of Halling, could be something special in the female classics)
Zoffany (looked quite special at times for the Ballydoyle team, may improve)
Strong Suit (he was supposedly the star in Richard Hannon's bunch but then looked quite ordinary towards the end of last season, maybe he will improve)
Astrophysical Jet (this horse was very profitable to follow last season, continue following....)
Lowdown (decent sprinter who was woefully out of form all last year, cost me absolute fortunes in 1 of my bets)
Also note that Sea The Stars' first crop on 2 year olds will be out running this season. Here is some of his best work, amazing horse! Only he could have won that Arc, just watch him in the final link!

Horse to lay constantly:
WORKFORCE - this horse is an over-hyped, over-rated pile of poo! He won a donkey derby, he won a farcical Arc, he will be odds on or at least solid favourite for many races next year and show what a complete flop he really is, just watch![/b]
