OK, not huge bucks, but as I only casually bet on footy, a nice result today! Anyone else had any joy recently?

I was passing a bookies last week so had a quick £2 line, got £38 back from 4 teams, not too bad and i hardly bother as a rule, i even had Man City to beat Chelsea, not a bad effort, shame i did'nt have more on. Nice one MV.

Nice touch MV.
I'm currently waiting on Inter to win (50 mins played as I type) which'll pay £73 from a £1 stake. Eight short priced european homes.
Not quite £242, but every little helps.

I'm keeping a record of my win/loss football bets this season as I reckon I probably done a couple of k last year!
Started off well with 2 accas comin in in the first 3 weeks but since the it's been downhill, but I'm still £64 up since the start.

It finished 0-0....marvellous - Benitez strikes again.
PMK - I work on the notion spending £10 a week on football bets during a 38 week season, if I win £380 during this period then I'm relatively happy. Football betting makes Soccer Saturday that much more entertaining. In 15 years or so I've only ever failed to break even or make a profit twice.
I also keep all my slips where one result has let me down for the duration too. So far this season I am up to 7 slips - almost one a week. Last season however I had an envelope full and the grand total of near misses added to just under £5k!!! Yes I'm unlucky.
I should really change my bets and have one or two bets but for me it's a bit of fun which consists of - an acca of homes, an acca of aways, 4 or 5 draws acca, selection of Scottish matches, a 2 from each section list, a European acca and a couple of both teams to score acca married up with a goal in each half (same teams).
God loves a tryer.

I probably bet about £30-£50 a week on football. Occasionally lump the odd ton on a double if I really fancy it.
Thankfully I don't have accounts with bookies/on line betting or it'd be to easy to try and recoup!!
Betting on the chapionship games this season is almost impossible!! Every one can and will beat each other.
On the first day I did a £2 Treble on what I thought were really outsiders Ipswich to do league favourites boro, Watford(relegation favourites) to beat Nor**** at crappow road and Scunthorpe to beat Reading at Reading(5/1). Bearing in mind these were the first games of the season!! It came in!! Paid about £180 off £2!! Combined 90/1!!
Goes to show u might aswell close ur eyes and point that pen when it comes to championship games.

Heh, I've been betting between £1-£3 a week on footy over the last two or so years and have had two wins. The one in this thread and £86 at the end of last season.
Not big bucks at all (or particularly that scientifically calculated), but I've had a few close calls for some £10k+ wins! It certainly makes Saturday afternoons a lot more interesting too.

Absolutely, sat afternoon with jeff stelling and the boys can't be beat!!
As u would imagine I've had some sick luck with goals in the 95th minute etc etc. My worst was last season. I did a £5 7 fold for a bit of a laugh.
Not sure if anyone remembers it but it was during ipswich's disaster start last season. They were away to Barnsley and it was 0-0 as all the final scores were being read out. I needed a draw to win just under £700. They broke away 'GOAL AT BARNSLEY' I was sick, Barnsley scored in about the 6th minute of injury time to ruin it!!
I hit the wine hard that night to numb the pain.
Sick.
To be fair it does work the other way, fabregas's 94th minute equaliser at goodison made me £580 off a fiver a few seasons back!! I was in the middle of a game of darts when it went in for my local pub, just went mental and got stuffed in the game!! Bought the pub a drink to celebrate!!
I hit the wine hard that night too funnily enough!!

I have to have an acca going on for the footy, just makes it more interesting with money involved!
Had a decent win last week too....Joe Jennings champions leage enhanced 4-fold came in at 9/2, only had a score on it, but £90 was a nice little raise

I'll probably do between £50-£100 a month laid out in footy bets during the season, no idea on profit/loss though!

I think I'll keep logs now. This season is a lot more difficult to call with a lot of the bigger teams, but there's more to be made.
Nothing like minimal outlay for maximum return.
Me and a few mates often get together for 'Stella & Stelling Saturday's' - whilst the missus goes round her Mums. Great fun!
