-£249 and how the hell did Reading not win that game?

Still, herein lies the lesson for gambling - if it was easy everybody would be winning.

Let's continue the ride by going for Wigan to do Blues at home today. Both still need the points to be absolutely sure (although it's looking like Derby, Fulham Bolton are on their way) and there's the added spice that Brucie will want to put one over on his former club.

11/10 down the high street and a not much better 2.22 on Betfair. Go with the high street and save the commission.

Broke my godawful run to get back to -£139 for the season.

With few matches to go, and as we enter the silly stage of the season where many matches mean nothing so value can be found, I'm going to have to plump for Derby today to beat the Villa.

4/1 in the high street but if you get on today you can pick up 7.00 on Betfair. Derby are awful, I know, but they are down.

Put another way, Derby will probably be top 6 in the Championship next season and if they met Villa in the cup at Pride Park, you'd think 7 was a massive price.

Arsenal on sunday should be worth looking at. It's basically their Cup final. Anything but a win and the season is over. United have got injury problems at the back.

-£239 after my Derby tip went slightly wrong.

Wigan look the bet of the day for me. Playing for pride at home to a Spurs side that still can't find any consistency. 6/4 High St, and a not much better 2.66 Betfair once you've chopped the commission.

In a once in a blue moon opportunity, my pal (who is a Championship bettor) is here and he says that Hull are the absolute banker of the day away at Sheff Utd. 2.94 Betfair.

-£339 and season end is nigh.

North East bore draw looks likely today. Go for Sunderland/Boro at 11/5 down the high street. Betfair the same around 3.2 so get some fresh air and save the commission.

Apologies for my useless pal last week tipping Hull.

Not a footie bettor myself QM, but your season of tipping this year has a somewhat Curbishleyesque air to it does it not? Great start, but post-Christmas collapse... ;-)

Yes indeed. Not so much a roller coaster as a massive climb followed by a terrific plunge.

-£439.

Newcastle are massive at 6.4 Betfair (5/1 High Street) to do Chelsea on Monday.

Nothing to play for except beating European Champions elect. Expect Newcastle to shorten post Utd win vs West Ham tomorrow as Chelsea give up and focus on European Cup.

-£539 :(

Last day of the season so no redemption today I'm afraid folks. Liverpool look reasonable at 6/4 away at Spurs down the high street. Ramos has already made his intentions clear about who's staying/going so few will be playing for their places.

6/4 High Street. 2.86 Betfair.

Finished on -£359 for the season, which at least wasn't the season low (although very nearly).

As Arnie said, 'I'll be Back'. although I don't think he was talking about football betting.

Footy back again!

Right, let's start as we mean to go on today: Spurs will do their usual 'we're going to win the league song' at 2.55 pm and by 3.10 pm, they'll be calling for Ramos' head.

Boro 11/5 high street, 3.55 Betfair.

£100 single
