it's always worth reading what the ATR Tips section has to say about a race you want to punt. They don't always get it right, but i've had a 40/1 winner off it in the distant past.

5.15 Curragh

DO NOT back MIJHAAR

Some of you will see this as a tip since I have not posted a winner on this thread yet, but this horse is a shit house with a shit jockey on board, is upgraded after barely winning a listed race and is so prone to finding trouble that it didn't get a run in a 4 horse race!

Agreed. It ran shit. I had a few quid on Royal Diamond, hedging it with Ernest Hemingway.

Shit doesn't describe the run. Led, faded, tailed off! Shithouse indeed!

AL KAZEEM in the Coral Eclipse... 15/8 is giving money away. This horse is by far the best in the race, he has demolished the mighty Camelot twice now and none of his opponents in this match his class. Even if Declaration of War runs, he is not as good as the selection here. I have refused to back this horse twice but I have now been convinced of his quality. I think anyone who doubts this horse's ability after his last 2 performances needs their brain examined.

My problem of late has been backing horses I fancy strongly in multiples to get value, but everything but the fancied horse loses! So I think I'll be sticking to singles! Right now there is nothing I fancy because I've not looked at the betting of any future race. I can't see Al Kazeem winning the Arc but I can't see any horse winning that race as it is always a rough one these days with too many runners. Apparently Al Kazeem goes for the Irish Champion Stakes now or The Juddmonte, more likely the former... depends who he's taking on... maybe I'm up against him again??? I wouldn't dismiss Ruler of The World because of 1 bad ride, he is definitely a smart horse.
