I had a £350 once and then it went back down to £335!!

Did you get them both mate? my one even after the second £350 started somewhere in the £160 region, i could'nt be arsed with it again, went back in a couple of days and it was gone.

Most of these games with a progressive meter do operate "reserve pots" in the background. A meter with a max (say 350GBP) will stop at that figure and pay that out when it hits. In the background, a reserve pot builds. So one day that reserve pot might only have a few quid in it, another it might have a full 350GBP in it too. It all depends on how recently that last pot was hit, relative to when the reserve pot in the background began to build.

This might explain some of the variances you talk about in pot sizes.
