the heroic pseudonym came second :(

he/she was beaten by a 66/1 outsider which seems an incredibly long-priced winner in a five-horse race.

never mind

Nice one. I still blame my mother for not christening me 'Wimbledon '88 FA Cup' all those years ago.

Welcome to the board Eluva!

I'm new to the horse-racing lark too, but the modus operandi seems to be to back the horse with the BIGGEST odds.

I'm sure this tip could be quite lucrative for everyone (especially Mr W. Hill, Mr V. Chandler and Mr O. Therbookmaker).

Cant really fault the tip, beat all the main rivals and the 66-1 wins it..

Not an uncommon thing in horse racing im afraid.

I've fond memories of that. Any idea what their odds were for winning the FA Cup?

Predates Betfair but I would imagine they were at least 100-1 in the January before the 3rd rd. They were 10/1 on the morning of the Cup Final itself.

Not bad! Almost as good as the time when Denmark were 250-1 to win the Euro championships, even after they'd been confirmed in the tournament (when Yugoslavia got barred).
