Dongle expired

Anybody else had a "dongle expired" error on a Paragon since the most recent update after building a bit of cash in the bank, or was I just extremely unlucky to be playing it when the dongle did actually expire.

Since the warning message has appeared I have always been collecting as I go. I got distracted this time and forgot. Lesson learned, but I just wondered was the machine protecting itself, or was I just unlucky.

It does happen occasionally (I think I posted a screenshot of one such error a while back). The operator's fault, really; definitely not the machine protecting itself.

I could be cynical and say they've done it on purpose 'cos the 3 games that lost them thousands and thousands of pounds need funds recovered.....but i won't

These do expire but i have never known or seen one go in the middle of actual gameplay...
You seem to have been very unlucky my friend.
Its up to the operator to swap the old dongle when it says so, possibly in some kind of engineers mode i expect, and i expect they have a week or so warning as well.
Just the tight operators eeking every bloody penny they can from the machine....

P.s. How much did you have banked? Was it worth haggling with the landlord about?

a paragon yesterday accused me of note fraud. never heard an SWP make such a din. it was in a pub i go to quite often and am on nodding terms with the publican so there was no suspicion that i was up to anything. it was a fiver from the bar too.

Yes, I've had that once before, again without any seeming cause on my part. A total din, and me looking guilty as hell, but about a minute later it totally stopped, the machine went back to normal, and the world went on as usual.

yes, same for me. except i don't think it was much more than ten seconds that the alarm was going. still long enough for everyone in the pub to turn around and tut.

Grrrr....What is it about Paragons on a Thursday. This week it was "Hopper Error". As I was employing "collect as you go" it wasn't as bad as it could have been as I had already collected some money (although I feel there was plenty more available). But this time the bank cleared, so there was no chance of getting it back.

At least with the "Dongle expired", my bank was still on show. To my amazement, I actually got paid when I called in the next day!

I had started to hit collect as soon I exited the previous game - could this have been a factor?
