At risk of showing lack of skill on my part:

I'd agree with Monopoly. My best single game was £14.50, consisting of a £10 pot and £4.50 on the cards, but my best offer is only £6.50.

I've never JPed DOND, although have all but stopped playing it now. ItBox DOND, at least, strikes me as in the "jackpot available once in every X thousand endgames" class - not very acceptable. Have had countless £10s, like everyone else (not ever had £10+, which might have been possible with £10 and £20 as the last two selections, I guess).

I've never JPed Cluedo I must confess. Have got up to £10 a number of times but never had sufficient lives to want to gamble on.

Golden Balls strikes me as in the "unwinnable advertised JP" category - my best is £8 on that, achieved twice.

There are other examples: Every Loser Wins advertises a highly theoretical £20 which I've never got. More achievable, but still terrain untouched by me, is Deals on Wheels - I can get £10 on that pretty easily at a new site, but never when I've got double prizes (to be honest I nearly would always take an extra life, which probably explains it).

HEXperts favourite game. Tbh I'm not even sure what the jackpot is on it or even if it has one....

To flip the question round slightly, the only mainstream quiz games that have been around in say the last 12 months (i.e. excluding the rarer old games that survive in odd locations) that I would say the advertised Jackpots were realistically available on would be:

- Celebrity WWTBAM
- Jiggy Bank
- Fantasy Football League
- Take It Or Leave It (if you count prizes circa £9/£18 as being the Jackpot)

On some other games a decent prize below the Jackpot is realistically available on a regular basis, such as Deal or No Deal, Every Loser Wins, Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old? and Spinner Takes All.

For everything else (unless I've forgotten something) you may get a decent prize if you are lucky to find a machine with a certain game that is constantly fed by punters - like Monopoly and Cluedo - but on the whole the realistic maximum prize is much lower. This doesn't necessarily make these games bad games in themselves but you have to accept that on virtually every game you win on things like Back 2 School, Goldenballs and 1 vs 100 the prize will be fixed in the £3 to £5 range.

I hav to agree that Monopoly has been my biggest bug bear.

I've had the £20 jackpot in the three cards I have selected twice, but taken no more than £12 out of it, which includes the train station bonus.

As i've mentioned before, i'm no pro - so I tend to get lucky sometimes. I have jackpotted DOND four times, and had the £20 box when playing on the £40 jackpot. Golden Balls I have NEVER seen the end game, but then only play this sparingly.

Can U Dig It was an old favourite of mine, and got close to double figures, and I only won a tenner on Cluedo because it offered me it as a bonus cash prize.

Blockbusters Gold Run is another I would like to conquer, but have never got close and I have come extremely close on Ceasars Palace.

I think Nil misses a few things. If we're talking games that have appeared and disappeared in Nil's timeframe (and he includes Jiggy Bank), I think we'd have to include things like unchipped Hell's Bells, chipped X Factor (still on GamesNets, Opens and FatBoxes) and of course Great Pretender. And I'd also include the GamesNet incarnation of Caesar's Palace although it's very much a one JP-per-venue kind of thing. There's also Blockbusters Super Gold Run, which is/was fab (no-one ever mentions it on here - I wonder why?). And things like Pub Quiz and Trivia For Dummies have a non-trivial chance of JP (TFD increasingly rarely I must say). And I've never done a JP on Cops and Robbers but it is clearly do-able if you get to Millionaire's Row with a following wind.

I knew that there'd be a couple of examples where as soon as someone mentioned them I'd think "D'oh! How did I forget THAT?".

Taking each one in turn:

- X Factor - that was the D'oh! moment (in its more recent incarnation) ops:

- Caesar's Palace - I should have included this, Yes, but as you say the real Jackpot varies on this one, with Paragons routinely offering 5 keys only and unless you find a machine in very benevolent mood the prize you win from the initial keys really should be the one you take

- Hell's Bells - I did consider this but then I thought that the timescale I mentioned only covered the chipped version

- Great Pretender - I have to confess I missed out on this one at the time and also wasn't sure when it was routinely available

- Blockbusters Super Gold Run - one to go in my category of 'OK games with underwhelming prizes' - virtually everywhere you find it the Jackpot is £4 for the 50p game and £5 for the £1 game and you are usually prevented from getting the last Gold Run anyway by two or three spoilers of the 'Dewey Decimal System', 'number of calories in a tin of cling peaches' type

- Pub Quiz - if £10 is the advertised JP then Yes then this should go in

- Trivia for Dummies - the only version routinely available nowadays (on the Paragons) is impossible

- Cops and Robbers - I have never ever found one of these remotely in payout mode and really can't bear the game so would have to be tortured by being made to sit through another 90 minutes of an Everton game before I included this crock of **** in my list

I won THREE jackpots on various different C&Rs on Thursday. Not that I'm about to suggest it is a good game, nor that I was anything other than very fortunate..

Goldenballs is probably not realistically jackpottable, my best is £10. Never won £20 on DOND either, lots of tenners, but so what. 1 vs 100 similarly.

I was thinking about the last-but-one Blockbusters SGR still on some older GamesNets and Opens, which had a 50p mode only and £10JP. That was a *very* nice game and the £10 was a completely realistic prospect.

And I've had some reports of TFDs in the sticks still being in paying mode, and have got within one spot the difference of a JP since the most recent Paragon upload. But at all central locations I know, I agree £10 is no longer on (that said, I'm prepared to believe that assiduous spot the difference learning might yield some rewards there).

one shitbox game which is still extant (despite being rubbish) is Monster Cash. it has replayability, ergo people must be playing it. the pool game is still around too.

Trivia For Dummies continues to be a jackpot certainty - If you get there first!! ........however Trivia For Dummies II is on the way, (Spot the Difference has gone), not so sure about this one.

I stopped playing TFD as after a few attempts at spotting the difference I accepted defeat,probably too easily./That I suppose makes me a dummy!

This probably only goes to show that I play it infrequently, but I had a first on Monopoly this lunchtime: got both the dark blue properties such that I had a hotel on either (which was only the second time I'd done that, the other being just a couple of weeks ago), and then promptly landed on Mayfair to get 1600 points or somesuch, all of which got me easily through to the endgame! I then got £4.50, so not bad for Monopoly.

On the matter of jackpots, I recently claimed my first JP on that old favourite All-Star Quiz (albeit I didn't dare play the bonus game to gamble it from £10 to £20). Unlike when ggdr managed it, the questions remained pretty moderate throughout and it required no special skill on my part.

Probably mentioned before, but I've done all-star quiz a few times. If you get it first time when its in a good mood you can go all the way. Otherwise, if you had an aussie quizzer you might be fine!!
