very stylish new offering from the itbox. not sure who makes it, possibly revolution but it has much more substance than most of their recent games.

think of a bleak lawless neighbourhood, all very atmospheric. you have to fight off various thugs by answering questions. the game structure is familiar but the thinking behind it has been very good. so well done to whoever is behind it. do you know what? i think this game could have some longevity.

the spoilers don't kick in too early, the prizing structure is perfectly fair and it is enjoyable to play. it gives value for money for the people who pay for our swp winnings so it should be good for a few quid to the upper echelons of players.

the in-game dialogue is very tidy as well, which doesn't matter a jot to the actual game but it flows well and it involves the player with the story within the game.

if you haven't seen it yet then i think you will be pleasantly surprised by this one. it is a very tidy bit of work and 1000 times more attractive than (to take an example of a recent and shit titbox game) buzzle.

Sounds promising. I'll do my best to give this one a 'fair hearing'.

P.S. How on earth did you manage to accumulate 5,000,000+ points? Have you found a chink in the Fruitchat armour?

I have wondered about how the points work. How come WaterGate has only got 126 having made 186 posts? Or is this a silly question? :)

you can do various stuff with the points. check the ten options at the top of the screen.

anyway stop hijacking my thread about QUIZ CITY, the best game in the world.

I thought this one actually looked pretty crap.

Nice visual style, but just looked..... outdated.

Spinning barrel was an interesting idea, but I got bored of it pretty quick.

its exactly the same as the film it rips off , a triumph of style over substance. In a word garbage.

with respect, i think you have missed the point.
it is stating the fundamentally obvious but, unless average joes play and lose on games, there is no money in it for you. qed.
you say it is a "triumph of style over substance". many, many casual players do not care about substance (i'm taking that to mean kerching) but the style will certainly appeal above the rest of the sterile dross on that cabinet.

i am a casual player these days so, if you go to a pub after me, you can have some of my money from the game.

With more respect, I don't think anyone has missed the point unknownpseudonym. It's not THAT good. Have you been receiving brown envelopes from someone or something? Calm down dear, it's just a commericial. :o ops: :o ops: :D

Must admit had a punt on this at lunch and not too impressed. Its basically pub quiz with irritating bits in between.

I've now had a go on this. As UP says, the presentation is nice and suggests a better budget than most modern SWP games which are graphically absolutely rubbish. But equally as Hornby says it's really the same game as Pub Quiz. Which basically means fine but not that exciting. I thought it was about the same difficulty as Pub Quiz as well i.e. a decent shot at £1 but spoilers kicking in before the £3. If all ItBox can come up with for the new release is this and Tetris, that's really rather unexciting for all concerned.

Blimey ukp, have you had a taste test recently??? Quiz City stinks, its made by the same people who did 'Who Wants To Win A Tenner'.

i'm sticking to my guns on this.
the animation you get when you win JP is spectacular. (i'd imagine.)

PQ gets played by few people, everyone has a pop on QC.

I wasn't too enthused by this one either.

I don't really play quiz machines for anything except enjoyment and occasionally profit. The cut scenes and all the bangles and baubles don't provide either.

Fair play to them for doing something a bit different and trying to liven up the game, but I think they should have spent their time thinking up novel ideas rather than just adding a few film-noir like cut sequences to a bog-standard quiz game.

it's normally me who badmouths the nitwitbox.
anyway, by far the best game at the moment is WUGM also on the itbox.

i still like QC and i don't care if i'm the only one so ner.
