just doing a bit of spring cleaning so threads don't get too woolly.

a little bug on this: if you choose to play as australia the fieldsman who plays against you is your own player. i'd like to see gary pratt there, he'd wind up those mouthy convicts.

anybody managed to hit a six yet?

bah. my best score so far is a far-from-impressive 19 for 3.
how does BENJI get 1008 when i can only get 19? could it be a preprogrammed score?

In my local the top score is 7800, I know of a 10,000 score.

You get bonus points for scoring 4's and 6's, having remaining wickets and for surviving against a higher number of balls. Your strike rate is also factored in.

aha! the penny has finally dropped.
i can't see JP being won but there is certainly beer money in this.

Am I imagining it or do the Aussies sometimes send down the odd underarm delivery and if so is this some kind of bonus? i.e. easier to hit; less likely to get out etc?

There are varying bowl speeds, but this happens regardless of which team you play as.

Chronix how many runs are you getting for your £2s? Presumably 50+

After 3 of these did the prize scale become tougher eg 50 for first £??

I have seen 1 machine down at 30 for the first quid but none greater than 40 even after a few £s out.

when i worked out how to do it, £1 was at 20 with £2 on 30 and £3 on 40. i bottled it then with only 2 balls to get 9 runs.
for the next game £1 was back at the standard (?) 30 runs mark.
i've only seen it in two different places though so i'm hardly an authority on prize structures.

Standard is 40- I have played on a couple of games that had not been previously cashed on.

i hit a six yesterday. it was a beautiful lofted drive which left the clownish fielder thunderstruck with awe.

really liking this game and it appears to be getting a lot of gameplay from casual swpers.

tbh i couldn't care less that i only got £3 return from £5 in, it is enjoyable over a pint and there are plenty of other games which can pay for your beer. also it is one of those games which can be played by two or more people taking turns to have the next shot (c.f. one of the good aspects of caveman capers). it would be nice if it told you how strong any wind was but the game needs to take its money so it is understandable why it doesn't do this.

i just can't wait for itbox to get their hands on it and destroy any semblance of fair gameplay like they have for so many other decent games.

To be honest UP re lofted drive for six I hardly ever go down the ground as find it much harder to judge. All shots for me seem to be either dead square (adjusting for wind )or slices down to long leg/ third man when the gap looks OK.
