Technical Question - Screen Resolutions

Hi all,

A techy question relating to various game boxes. Does anyone know the screen resolutions that are used in say a standard iTbox, or Paragon?
I realise an iTbox is 4:3, so may be something like 800x600, or 1024x768 and that a Paragon is widescreen (16:9), but clarification would be handy... ;)

Also, I 'think' I've noticed that when starting certain games, the resolution appears to change, if so, would anyone know the min / max, that could be set?

Cheers!

I don't, but I'm sure you're right that the resolution changes when starting certain games.

The Itbox uses 1024x768x32. But I've known games change the res - for the PC inside, 800x600 will get you better performance.

The min/max depends entirely on the video card, which I think are Radeon 7000s in most of them. Lowest will almost certainly be 320x200, the sensible lowest will be 640x480 and the highest probably 1280x1024, but it'll chug.

(I had the opportunity to take one apart once ;) )

Ah, brilliant stuff - I thought that 1024x768 might have been the 'standard'. It's just that my laptop is 1900x1220 (or as near as damn!) and it's bl00dy difficult designing graphics for a res that is not far off half of the current one!... :(

Cheers... ;)

800x600 is the most widely used res across all the terminals, and most games use this.

The itbox shell does run in 1024x768 but most of its games switch to 800x600.
