Thanks for that,Matt.I wouldn't mind having a go at writing some questions myself in a poacher turned gamekeeper scenario.Classic Bullseye is interestingly titled in that it's actually a new version rather than an old one as you might expect from the title. There are a few questions relating to a date in November 2009 which tallies with when you were asked to write some questions. It can be quite generous but if it's asking 801 to get on the prize board, probably best to give another game a go.Also, you did well to find a Wetherspoons that still has a quizzy!

No trouble at all, Muddle. :) Yes, it was a lucky find as was relatively 'tucked' (on the top floor of the Gravesend 'spoons - The Robert Pocock, if anyone is interested). The £1 on Word Soup was nicely down in the 710 range, but didn't see anything further than that, and I stupidly left myself with a board finish of something like:

---A
EIIA

...which was a little silly.

I noticed it had two versions of Bully; the 'Classic' and the er, non-classic apparently. I didn't play the later, but I would guess that is the one that can get you to the 'prize round' with no actual prize there?

Writing questions is fun! The clever part is being able to come up with three plausible incorrect answers (not so bad for questions that require a number or date answer). Kept the old mind ticking over, if nothing else. :)

Edit: Yet another duplicate. Anyone know how to fix this tedious issue?

I had forgotten the time out trick....until now. There was a little mini meet I attended. I'm not sure if it's the same one but it was myself aka George, Barry Trotter aka Dave at GWHL, Dave aka Grecian, Nil Satis whose first name sadly eludes me (Mike?) and Mr. Terry who sadly doesn't post on here anymore along with some other GWHL/Games Media staff who attended, firstly at GWHL @ Notts then parliament square + surrounding area pubs afterwards.
At the time GWHL did closely monitor this board, hence some quirky questions that exist today.
I actually played the Texas Hold 'em game on one of those casino/quiz/megatouch combos the other day. Totally controlled of course but fun and quite well implemented.
It's going back a few years now. I remember Grecian being surprised that phones were actually phones. We played a lets play dond you see...actually this is degenerating into pointless JG waffling.
Still plenty of quizzes in the country food pubs imo, but yes town centres quite a rarity now.
As for the duplicate post issue, I don't know the solution, sorry. I offered Gambo a hefty transfer fee for Slasher, but he flat refused. Admin is AWOL and has been for over a year, God only knows how the board still ticks over tbh.

I believe that was indeed the meet that I couldn't attend. A real shame as I am still to meet any of the names listed about in real life (although we jostle around a lot on FB, as you do - George you not on there, sir? Seek me out, if so.)

In all seriousness, do GW still exist? Their website (the last time I checked) was extremely out of date and none of the suggested things seemed to have come to fruition?

I'm still in touch with Mike (admin) on FB too - maybe we could look at re-hashing this place and get it up and going again?

They do still exist, but they now have a shiny new website with lots of pictures of games and a real push towards their Tournaments, but very little in the way of actual news content about the sort of games that might interest those of us still reading this Forum:

http://games-warehouse.com/

The old one is still there for comparison:

http://www.gwhl.co.uk/

I will try to write more about the GWHL trips later.

Following on from what Matt and Nil have said, while they seem to be pushing these tournaments, checking the leaderboards seems to show that they're not available at many venues. Not much chance of playing one if you live in Scotland or the north of England. Also, what has happened to Subz? Surely that was supposed to be 'launched' by now.I've hardly seen it on any termnals at all.Not that I thought it was any good admittedly.

I've seen plenty of examples on my patch. I accept I am not the target market (although who is?) and I may be missing something obvious but the few times I've tried it I've found it completely impossible to make any sort of score. Sadly as I still haven't seen a single punter playing it, I haven't been able to watch someone else to see if I have just missed the point or if it really is as bad as it seems.

Subz is rubbish - had one go and that's that.
Birdz was slightly better but a waste of time basically.
What will the next one be called? Shitz?

Great idea Paragon. How about combining Subz and Shitz. The ships can bomb the Subz and the Subz can torpedo the floaters.
