Fatbox machine help

I recently was given a fatbox machine which has a Gold credit card fitted but has expired.
I know you cannot get these reloaded except by the maker although they are bust.
I only intend to use it for the house games room so am wondering if it can be played in free play mode.
I have tried to open the bottom door but the machine still displayes "open black credit card has expired"
It does not go past this error
If it is not possible to play in free play mode can the machine be converted to inde as I know the cards can be ahem.......
