The point with both those shows, or at least the actual 'chase' part of The Chase when you get the individual offer, plus all of Eggheads, is that the low number of questions and multiple choice options give more people a chance than would otherwise be the case. On a set of say 100 decent questions with no multiple choice answers, someone like Kevin or Pat would beat any of us at least 99% of the time, but reduce that down to three or four questions and things are different. It's the same as playing Phil Taylor at darts - no amateur player would ever beat him over a proper match, but make it best of three darts and there is a chance it could happen.

By the way, if anyone doesn't believe that Kevin or Pat is the quiz equivalent of Phil Taylor, then you simply haven't seem them in action...
