new word game

Recently saw a 'new' word game on test QZONE. You had to make as many three letter words from a nine letter grid as possible. Think the jackpot was £10. Vaguely remember something similar years ago.

I can see the word soupers quickly maximising best strategy for this, with Scrabble dictionaries in the head.

The stratgy is very simple, word soup was a tough game anyway, never found a unit ready for more than a £2 prize.

50p in for a quid out, that was the standard.

in other news, i met with VBOB the other day and he told me that he'd found a unit last month from which he took the WS jackpot (maximum prize) of a tenner.

So V BOB was an actual person and not a collective . Is he aka Cardinal Richlieu or is that another esteemed wordsmith? Are the wordsoup capital challenges still going on?
On another tack has Drummond genuinely given up?
